A substantial order for joint partners Global Foundries and Chengdu Municipality represents a significant step forward for Piller China and an opportunity for the Piller Group to expand its support of Global Foundries facilities worldwide.
The new order for 20MVA of Piller UNIBLOCK™ Diesel Rotary UPS will power protect a new US$10 billion world-class FD-SOI ecosystem being jointly developed by Global Foundries and Chengdu Municipality as part of the Chinese government’s investment program in the semiconductor industry. Involving the hiring of more than 500 engineers, the project will establish multiple centers for IP development, IC design and the incubation of fabless companies within Chengdu.
