Active Power people from across the organization freely give their time, fundraising experience and direct action to prepare and package 10,000 meals for people affected by hunger.
The collective effort involving 30 of the Active Power team and the company saw almost $5000 raised and thousands of hours volunteered to create meals for the global charity Rise Against Hunger which provides food relief in developing nations.
Using the funds raised Active Power charity volunteers purchased rice, soy, dried veg and packaging materials to the value of $3,853.68 in preparation for the charity event.
The charity event included food prep and packing and was held at the Active Power facility in Austin, Texas. Thirty dedicated individuals from all departments volunteered to help prep and pack the food parcels.
From a total of almost $5,000 raised, including charity fund matching by Active Power Inc., the remaining $874 of money raised is being donated to local charities.

Having been set a goal of funding and preparing 10,000 meals they exceeded the target and should be hugely proud of their accomplishment. Rise Against Hunger is an international hunger relief non-profit organization that coordinates the packaging and distribution of food and other aid to people in developing nations.
