Healthcare operations throughout the world operate equipment, such as MRI machines, that are particularly sensitive to power fluctuations. This hospital is no exception, and given its rural setting in Arizona, it has more than its share of power issues. This requires a reliable UPS to protect the equipment, and ensure patient sessions are not interrupted, scheduled appointments are not suddenly cancelled and expensive equipment is not damaged or destroyed.

Active Power Solution:

Active Power supplied two CleanSource UPS systems and provided turnkey services to install and commission the 600 kVA and 300 kVA Expandable CleanSource systems.

The customer placed a heavy premium on reliability, and did not want to use batteries. Active Power’s flywheel-based system was the perfect solution, and the expandable nature of one unit provides scalability for future growth. More than just the superior technology, the hospital was quite pleased with Active Power’s level of service, its power system expertise, and its in-house project management capability to provide a turnkey production.

Active Power’s General Services Administration (GSA) contract (GS-07F-0061N) simplified the procurement for the hospital. The CleanSource UPS systems are protecting critical equipment used in imaging, MRI and radiology. The CleanSource UPS conditions the power coming in and delivers a steady stream of quality power to the machines to enable continuous operations.
