Active Power Receives Order from Finland Based AGCO Sisu Power

Leading Diesel Engine Manufacturer Purchases Proven Flywheel Technology with More than 53 Million Hours of Field Runtime

AUSTIN, Texas (Dec. 8, 2008) – Active Power, Inc. (NASDAQ: ACPW), inventor and manufacturer of the most energy-efficient critical power systems in the world, today announced an order from AGCO Sisu Power (formerly Sisu Diesel) for two 1000 kVA UPS (uninterruptible power supply) systems, part of Active Power’s Megawatt Class CleanSource® UPS product line. The two systems will be deployed at a mission critical data center facility located outside of Helsinki, Finland, in Espoo. The facility is owned by Tapiola Group, a large financial services firm. The systems are scheduled to be shipped in February 2009.
