Active Power Receives Frost & Sullivan’s 2005 Award for Customer Development Leadership

Austin, Texas (November 14, 2005) -- Active Power, Inc. (NASDAQ: ACPW) today announced that it has received the 2005 Award for Customer Development Leadership from Frost & Sullivan, a leading backup power industry analyst.

The Frost & Sullivan Award for Customer Development Leadership is presented each year to the company that has demonstrated the most insight into customer needs and product demands. The recipient company has optimized its product line by leveraging its products with the various price, performance and feature points required by the backup power industry. This award recognizes Active Power’s accomplishments in new product introductions, ability to accommodate different market segments by repurposing technology, enhancement of product offerings and strategic technology and marketing alliances.

The award will be officially presented to Active Power’s Chairman and CEO, Joe Pinkerton, during the evening hospitality event Monday, November 14th at the 7x24 Exchange Fall Conference at La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, CA. Active Power’s new product, CoolAir™ DC, based on Active Power’s proprietary Thermal and Compressed Air Storage technology, will also be officially launched at the event.
